Little Black Table

"Little Black Table" represents two things I am passionate about - dining in a stylish home environment enjoying good food and wine and regular communication with my husband to foster the ongoing development of our (generally!) healthy relationship.

This blog highlights some of the wonderful and varied meals my husband (Sean) and I have shared in our home town and around the world. With two young children and a household budget though it's not possible to get to a restaurant. So we regularly 'make a night out a night in'.

It was important to me that we still created an environment of relaxation and ambience and it's not just the aesthetic, but when you dine out you communicate and listen more - giving each other your undivided attention across the table. Why don't we do that at home? We don't set the table, we rush through our meal, we don't put music on, light candles or get changed for dinner. So I created "Little Black Table" to make it easy.., everything you need is in the box.

I’m not a stylist, florist, therapist or chef. You don’t need to be any of these things either to create a beautiful dining environment at home and then relax and enjoy it with that special someone. Just use the items you get in Little Black Table.

Each box contains candle holders, a tablecloth or runner, napkins, vases and other assorted items all coordinated to give you "the look". There is also a detailed handbook with recipes and wine suggestions and easy to read information on the importance of relationship building written by Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Guy Vicars, a leader in his field. Tucked into each napkin are Relationship Cards offering practical ideas for starting a fulfilling conversation, sorting through deeper relationship stuff that might be going on or simply going over some of the day to day housekeeping we tend to put off. What’s more, Little Black Table comes in four different looks to suit your mood and home decor - choose from ‘Romantic’, ‘Natural’, ‘Exotic’ or ‘Glamorous’. Buy your favourite look or all four. We all have more than one little black dress in our wardrobe. Why  not give your table the same luxury?
